Coffee Hour Instructions
-
Make coffee in the big urn. Place the basket on the rod and place the
rod in the urn - these can be found in the dishwasher or out on the
counter; fill to the top line for water; use the "cups of water" to
"cups of coffee ground" chart in the cabinet.
Don't forget to plug in -- which has been
forgotten before by me, so it can happen!
-
Next, fill the hot water urn with water and plug in also.
-
Decaf coffee is made in the white coffee pot (again, use the "cups of
water" to "cups of coffee ground" chart in the cabinet). Wait to turn
the decaf coffee on right before the service so that it tastes fresh.
Turn on by moving the dial until the light comes on - should be the
"auto" or the "on" switch.
-
Set out the cream - found in the bottom cabinet to the left of
kitchen entrance when walking in. Set out sugar, sweet-n-low, and
splenda - located in the same cabinet as the tea (cabinet, above, to
the right of the oven).
-
Lemonade is in the bottom cabinet to the left of the sink -- 2-3
pitchers should do it. Pitchers are in the bottom left cabinet with
respect to the oven. When making the lemonade, use 4 scoops, fill up
the pitchers and stir. You can place the pitchers in the fridge until
after the service to chill.
-
Set everything up while the last hymn is sung -- outside on a table,
weather permitting. There are some blue trays on top of the fridge to
carry mugs etc... Try to set out reusable or recyclable mugs and cups
instead of using disposables. If possible, pre-pouring the lemonade is
a good idea.
-
Last, but not least - bring snacks to share. Here are some ideas:
-
Sweet breads (banana, pumpkin, etc...)
-
Fruit (finger sized - strawberries, cut up bananas, oranges, melon etc...)
-
Other ideas -- small muffins, cheese cubes, small pastries, etc... be
creative; use local produce/snacks; veggies or fruit from the garden --
with permission :-).
-
New thoughts are always welcome!
Clean up by pouring out the coffee, hot water etc.; placing mugs etc.
in the dishwasher and run the dishwasher. This is a big help!
